Gangnam Style Continues

Here is a more recent review of the craze surrounding PSY’s Gangnam Style.

You can read their blog: Eat Your Kimchi! and about Gangnam Style for Music Mondays.

Parody video by Simon and Martina!

Bloopers!                        They are awesome!

Britney Spears even learns the horse dance from PSY himself while on Ellen’s show.

This is getting a lot of press.

“Hi, I’m PSY from Korea. How are you?” Yeah, that is totally for a Korean audience!  Sigh, we know you are from Korea … also we don’t especially care unless we are Korean.

Teens React to PSY’s Gangnam Style

PSY is a Korean-pop singer.  He has a new song called, "Gangnam Style."  Gangnam is the richest area of Seoul.  There is a horse dance involved in the parody music video.  The Fine Bros. Productions introduces some unsuspecting American teens to this viral video.

However, as demonstrated by this article, it isn’t simply a funny video to win over the hearts of the white American kids.  Although, it certainly is much more of a modern American parody style than a classic K-pop style.

Daily Life in Korea 28

These bloggers, Eat Your Kimchi, are living in Korea and they are really funny and can give you the 411 on the K-pop scene.  They are from Canada and you should check out their website and videos.

But that part about guys blow-drying and spritzing their junk is true.  Korean men are “metro-sexual” or basically just effeminate.

Daily Life in Korea 14

Another day in Korea, another day of Korean men beating up  women in public.

I found out about this viral video through a Facebook link to this blog.

I clearly am somewhat biased, but there have been videos of groups of men drinking soju on the a much more crowded subway car in the middle of the floor.  Sure, smoking on the subway is wrong.  So is most of the things Koreans do because something being illegal isn’t the same as it being prohibited.  This is a country that still struggles with corruption and views age, money, and power as irrefutable “might makes right” conditions.  However, male is better than female, so a man making some scene is ignored while a woman making a scene is physically assaulted.

So, there is your fix of daily life in Korea.  Women getting put in their place by force.
